I’ll be unable to update until after 16th, but I’ll be writing, panelling, and working on Witches during my whole trip. Just letting you know.

Oops, looks like I missed some. Big update to the drawstream gallery. Make sure you check out pages, 2,3,4, etc. (use the drop-down menu in the gallery). 15 left, then I’m REALLY done with sketches.

That’s it! About 300 sketches done (though I only scanned a few at the end) and about 125 waifus completed. I still have to do four illustrated boxes and two paintings, but those can wait until the materials arrive. ON TO COMICS.

PS this sketch should be enjoyed with this soundtrack.

I drew about 270 sketches over the last three days (for the Kickstarter). Almost done. After this is taken care of I’ll be able to draw comics like crazy.

I’m grinding all day every day! In today’s batch I tried inking without sketching first. Some of the no-sketch inking results turned out better than I expected. Others turned out worse.

Almost comfortable enough to start doing some actual comic pages this way.

Using nibs + paper is awesome. With this level of control I can finally start working on overcoming my Sameface Syndrome.

I missed two comic updates. Sorry. I’ve been putting time into practicing a new production method for Cupcake (and line-drawing comics generally). It’s starting to turn out. Hopefully the result will be faster comics with higher quality and more interesting layouts.

The method is much more traditional: just sketch, line in dark pencil, trace on light table with liner, then scan in and clean. If I can GIT GUD I may be able to go straight from rough to lining in pen, then do very minor cleaning after scanning.

That’s about it for the waifus. On to book sketches and then actual comics.
